Application of Bayesian Regularization Criterion in near Field Acoustic Holography Based on Equivalent Source Method

Abstract: In order to choose an optimal regularization parameter for near field acoustic holography (NAH) based on equivalent source method (ESM), Bayesian regularization criterion method was introduced to solve the inverse problem. Comparison simulations were conducted with generalized cross validation method (GCV), L-curve method and Hald regularization formula method at various sound source frequencies, hologram distances, and Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNR). The results show that GCV, L-curve, and Hald regularization f… Show more

“…Sound pressure signals of loudspeakers were measured by the Brüel&Kjær 36-channel Combo array at 0.2 m distance from loudspeakers. The array utilizes Brüel&Kjær Type 4951 microphones and has a diameter of 0.65 m 11 . Sound pressure signals received by microphones are acquired simultaneously by Brüel&Kjær 41-channel PULSE Type 3560D Data Acquisition System and then transferred to PULSE LABSHOP Software where their cross-spectra are achieved 11 .…”

“…The application of iBEM is limited by its heavy computational cost. An alternative approach to iBEM is the equivalent source method (ESM) [5], [6]. In the ESM, the arbitrarily shaped sources are replaced by a set of equivalent sources whose strength remains to be solved.…”

“…In some cases, small changes in the righthand side e can cause arbitrarily large changes in the solution. In other words, they are usually sensitive to errors, such as data errors, discretization error, and so on, which can cause large deviations of identified results in inverse problems, thus attempt to solve equation (15) directly yielding solution vectors that are almost hopelessly disturbed with noise using some traditional mathematical methods [31,32]. Hence, in the following section, a new combined regularization technique will be established to solve this ill-posed problem.…”
