“…Our aim was to evaluate the anticancer properties of palladium and platinum complexes of different structural motifs, and accordingly, various complexes of 4-pyridylchalcogenolates with phosphine co-ligands, were prepared. Neutral platinum complexes of type I [M(P ∩ P)(4-Epy) 2 ] (M = Pt, P ∩ P = dppf, E = S; 1 , Se; 2 ) were prepared by a method similar to that for the palladium analogues of dppe 26 and dppf 22 (Scheme 1). The 1 : 2 ratio of phosphine and chalcogenolate ligands in 1 and 2 was determined from elemental analysis combined with 1 H NMR spectroscopy (Fig.…”

“…26 The cationic platinum complexes [Pt(P -P)(4-Epy)] n (OTf) n of category III could be synthesized via two routes from the reaction of Pt(dppf)(OTf) 2 with NaEpy or metallo-ligand I in the 1 : 1 ratio as described for palladium selenolate complexes of dppe (5) and dppf (8). 22 The 31 P{ 1 H} NMR spectrum of the yellow crystals of the complex of dppe 6 [Pt(dppe)-(4-Sepy)] n (OTf) n showed two large and two small signals in a 1 : 0.3 ratio (Fig. S6, ESI †).…”

“…This contrasts with our previously reported phosphine-capped Pd and Pt metallacycles derived from 4-pyridyl chalcogenolate, wherein the dimer and tetramer remain in equilibria as major and minor products (Scheme S1). , The catalytic activity of the present Pd complexes was evaluated in Suzuki C–C coupling reactions in water.…”
