Anticancer activity of Pt-selenolate metallacycles

Abstract: A series of Pt metallacycles [(PP)Pt(µ-py-E)]n(X)n (n = 2 or 4, E = S or Se, X = OTf or BPh4) were constructed from 4-pyridylthiolate/selenolate and the chelating phosphines dppe...

“…These results suggest that complexes 2 and 3 exist in trimeric form in both solution and solid state. It is in contrast to our phosphine analogues [Pd(P ∩ P)(4-Sepy)] n (OTf) n , , in which the two products were identified as dimeric and tetrameric complexes in the ratio of 1:0.1 (P ∩ P/dppe) and 1:0.2 (P ∩ P/dppf), which remain in equilibrium.…”

“…In solution, the asymmetric isomer slowly converts into the thermodynamically favored symmetric isomer having a uniform charge separation in the cycle. This contrasts with the previously reported phosphine analogues wherein the symmetric dimer and tetramer of Pd and Pt complexes remain in equilibria. , A new undecanuclear Pd cluster was isolated as a minor product in the case of the complex of triflate counteranions. These nonphosphine Pd complexes show excellent catalytic activity with high turnover numbers in aqueous Suzuki coupling reactions and can be reused at least eight times without loss of significant activity.…”
