Aplikasi Mulsa dan Biokultur Urin Sapi terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Hasil Bawang Merah

Abstract: Most upland soils are poor in organic matter and have high temperature. The utilization ofmulch and organic manure with appropriate dosage are expected to enhance the physical andchemical conditions of the soil and the production of shallot. This study aimed to determine the effectof applying various types of mulch and cow urine bioculture on the growth and yield of shallot. Theresearch was conducted in March to June 2017 in Oloboju Village, Sigi Biromaru District, SigiRegency, Central Sulawesi Province. A ran… Show more

“…The treatment of cutting (P1), cutting (P2), and cutting (P3) increased along with the addition of POC concentration to the number of shallots planted, because the provision of POC can increase the growth and yield of shallot plants. This result is similar with Lasmini (2018) that the application of POC is not only able to increase the growth and yield of shallots, but also to improve the soil quality by giving nutrition to physical, chemical, and biological soil. Another opinion according to Nugraha (2014) that the larger leaves in plants, it will increase the function for photosynthesis that will absorb more sunlight and CO2 fixation that able to affect the assimilation results in shallots bulbs.…”

“…The different responses of bulb yield on the different mulch types were also reported by [16]. Mulching might promote root development and increase water and nutrient uptake [17,18], increasing the below-ground section of biomass (roots and bulbs).…”

“…Lahan ini cukup peka terhadap kerusakan lahan seperti erosi sehingga kandungan karbon organik tanahnya rendah (1,47 -2,24 %), begitu juga kandungan hara utama (N dan P) yang relatif rendah (Matheus et al, 2017). Kendala lainnya mencakup minimnya teknologi sehingga memerlukan ketepatan pengelolaan lahan kering untuk meningkatkan produksi yang berkelanjutan (Lasmini et al, 2017).…”
