“…As previously observed with 10 µM and along with reducing LPS-generated free radicals (Ha et al, 2008;Kao et al, 2010), quercetin (20-30 µM) also attenuated the LPS-induced NO production and iNOS protein and gene expressions in a Nrf2-dependent signalling pathway in BV-2 microglial cells (Kang et al, 2013). In addition to the inhibition of iNOS and subsequent NO production, apigenin (10 µM) (Ha et al, 2008) and wogonin (10-30 µM) (Yeh et al, 2014), also decrease the COX-2-dependent PGE2 production in LPS-activated BV-2 cells.…”

“…A study by Ha et al (2008) showed that apigenininhibited the production of NO by suppressing the expression of inducible NO synthase. It also protects the neuronal cells against injury in middle cerebral artery occlusion [34].…”

“…Moreover, apigenin suppressed p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) phosphorylation without affecting the activity of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK). Apigenin was also found to protect neuronal cells from injury in middle cerebral artery occlusion [71].…”
