Abstract:Aortic origin of the pulmonary artery (AOPA) is an infrequent congenital malformation. It is less frequently documented with an estimated prevalence of ~1%. Aortic origin of the right pulmonary artery is more common than the left. Frequent episodes of the lower respiratory tract infection and pulmonary arterial hypertension are common complications if left untreated.
