Anxiolytic-like effect of lavender essential oil inhalation in mice: Participation of serotonergic but not GABAA/benzodiazepine neurotransmission

Abstract: These results indicate an important role for the serotonergic system in the anxiolytic-like effect of lavender essential oil.

“…DZP, BSP, and EO did not decrease the locomotor activity of mice, but number of rearing and grooming behaviors significantly decreased in DZP, BSP, P. roseum EO20, and EO50 treated groups ( p < .05).
