Background: Itching is a leading symptom of chronic hand eczema (CHE) having a great impact on patients. The determinants of itching in CHE are unclear. Objective: We performed a cross-sectional analysis investigating factors associated with the presence and severity of itch in CHE patients from the CARPE registry. Methods: We present baseline data on itch in relationship with sociodemographic factors, severity of CHE, atopy, contact allergy, treatment and patient- reported outcomes including health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Results: Of 1,051 patients with CHE, 78.1% reported itching. Significant positive associations with itching were observed for younger age groups (17-25 and 26-45 years), for moderate, severe and very severe CHE and for small/moderate impairment in HRQoL. Atopic skin diathesis, hardly being able to realize treatment recommendations and very or extremely large impairments in HRQoL were associated with itch severity. Conclusion: Taking the identified variables into account may help identify vulnerable groups most affected by (severe) itch.

Instrumenti kvaliteta života specifični za dermatologiju, sve češće se primenjuju u istraživanju kod pacijenata sa kožnim bolestima. CIlj je ispitati odnos ocena kvaliteta života dobijenih primenom dva za dermatologiju specifična instrumenta. Istraživanjem je obuhvaćeno 62 ispitanika sa kožnim bolestima, kod kojih je kvalitet života ocenjen primenom instrumenata specifičnih za dermatologiju (tj. Dermatology Life Quality Index-DLQI i Skindex-16), namenjenih upotrebi kod svih kožnih bolesti. Ukupni skorovi DLQI i Skindex-16 nalazili su se u jakoj korelaciji (r=0.87; p<0.001). Postojale su i statistički značajne korelacije ukupnog skora DLQI sa skorovima za podskale simptomi, emocije i funkcionisanje iz r=0.77 i r=0.86, redom). Ukupan skor Skindex-16 nije bio u korelaciji sa skorom za podskalu tretman iz DLQI-a, međutim, bio je u korelaciji sa skorovima za podskale simptomi i osećanja, dnevne aktivnosti, slobodne aktivnosti, rad ili škola i lični odnosi iz r=0.80, r=0.66, r=0.62 i r=0.68, redom). Dva instrumenta specifična za dermatologiju (npr. DLQI i Skindex-16), ukoliko se zajedno primenjuju, mogu pružiti komplementarne podatke pri ocenjivanju kvaliteta života pacijenata sa kožnim bolestima.Ključne reči: Kožne bolesti, kvalitet života, DLQI, Skindex-16. UVODOboljenja kože u retkim slučajevima ugrožavaju život, međutim, mogu imati nepovoljan uticaj na sve aspekte kvaliteta života, kao što su psihološka dimenzija, fizičko i socijalno funkcionisanje [1,2].Za ocenu kvaliteta života pacijenata sa kožnim bolestima, konstruisano je nekoliko instrumenata specifičnih za dermatologiju, uključujući Skindex-16 i DLQI [3,4,5,6]. Svaki od tih instrumenata sastavljen je od upitnika, sa različitim pitanjima. U istraživanju, instrumenti kvaliteta života specifični za dermatologiju, korišćeni su kod pacijenata sa jednim oboljenjem kože ili uopšte sa kožnim bolestima [7,8,9,10,11,12]. CILJ RADACilj ove studije bio je da ispita odnos ocena kvaliteta života dobijenih primenom dva za dermatologiju specifična instrumenta (DLQI i Skindex-16). MATERIJAL I METODEStudijska populacija uključivala je ispitanike sa ši-rokim spektrom kožnih bolesti. Svi ispitanici lečeni su na Kožnom odeljenju Zdravstvenog centra u Kosovskoj Mitrovici. Istraživanjem je obuhvaćeno 62 ispitanika. Ispitanici mlađi od 18 godina i ispitanici sa mentalnim i telesnim bolestima nisu uključeni u studiju. Na početku istraživanja, od ispitanika su prikupljani podaci o sociodemografskim varijablama, kao što su pol, starosno doba, socijalni status. Moisturisers used alone or in combination with barrier creams may result in a clinically important protective effect, either in the long- or short-term, for the primary prevention of OIHD. Barrier creams alone may have slight protective effect, but this does not appear to be clinically important. The results for all of these comparisons were imprecise, and the low quality of the evidence means that our confidence in the effect estimates is limited. For skin protection education, the results varied substantially across the trials, the effect was imprecise, and the pooled risk reduction was not large enough to be clinically important. The very low quality of the evidence means that we are unsure as to whether skin protection education reduces the risk of developing OIHD. The interventions probably cause few or no serious adverse effects.We conclude that at present there is insufficient evidence to confidently assess the effectiveness of interventions used in the primary prevention of OIHD. This does not necessarily mean that current measures are ineffective. Even though the update of this review included larger studies of reasonable quality, there is still a need for trials which apply standardised measures for the detection of OIHD in order to determine the effectiveness of the different prevention strategies.
