Antiviral actions of flavanoid-derived compounds on dengue virus type-2

Abstract: Dengue viruses, mosquito-borne members of the Flaviviridae family, are the causative agents of dengue fever and its associated complications, dengue haemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome. To date, more than 2.5 billion people in over 100 countries are at risk of infection, and approximately 20 million infections were reported annually. There is currently no treatment or vaccine available for dengue infection. This study employed a whole-cell organism model or in vitro methods to study the inhibitory pro… Show more

“…Arthopods Pheretima asperfillm E.Perrier are common and common, and have long been medicine as raw materials are easy to get, included its prescription is also countless. However, it was rare reported for its pharmacodynamic foundation up to now .The searching of small molecules unknown of the insect and arthopods , may be able to get new drug lead compounds and new antibacterial ingredients, [3][4] further study its value from the molecular point of view, the new drug research and development is also very helpful [5][6].…”

“…In this study, LMP2 and LMP7 expression in cells following treatment with antiviral agent YK73 was investigated 5 . The expression of LMP2 following antiviral treatment was found to be comparable to that in untreated cells; YK73-treated DV2-infected cells demonstrated a 1.…”

“…The expression of these two proteins in DV-infected cells, as well as in those expressing DV non-structural proteins, has been found to be dysregulated [3][4] . The present study aimed to investigate the effects of DV2 infection on LMP2 and LMP7 expression in human HepG2 cells using YK73, which has been shown to act as an antiviral agent against DV 5 .…”

“…NS3 is responsible for proteolysis of den [gue viral RNA polyprotein as well as carrying out various enzymatic reactions that are mandatory for replication of dengue virus (Luo et al, 2008). Currently there is no antiviral therapy available for Dengue (Muhamad et al, 2010). We assessed the ability of myco -phenolic acid (MPA) and ribavirin (RBV), drug currently used as an immunosuppressive agent, to inhibit dengue virus antigen expression, RNA replication, and virus production (Diamond et al, 2012;Allison et al, 1993;Koff et al, 1983;Conner et al, 1984).…”
