-Background -The gastrorraphy isolated or associated with the use of biological adhesives formed throughout the history of surgery the usual way to promote healing in gastric lesions; however, the use of herbal medicine has been increasingly employed to help the wound healing. Aim -To evaluate the wound healing caused in the stomach of rats using extract of Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi and Carapa guianensis Aublet oil. Methods -Ninety rats, adult males were divided into three groups: aroeira, andiroba and control group, which were subdivided into three subgroups of five animals according to the time of the deaths (seven, 14 and 21 days). All underwent the same surgical procedure (injury and suture the stomach) differing only to the animals in groups aroeira and andiroba that received a daily dose of 100 mg / kg of hydroalcoholic extract and oil, by gavage, while the control group received normal saline. The parameters evaluated were the macroscopic and microscopic test of resistance to air insufflation and test the traction force.Results -All animals showed good healing of gastric and abdominal wall without infection and dehiscence. Both groups presented neighboring organs adhesions on the gastric surface. The endurance test for air insufflation showed higher average pressure within seven days and the test revealed greater traction force of rupture between seven and 14 days in groups aroeira and andiroba. The intensity of chronic inflammation revealed statistically significant differences in angiogenesis and fibroblast proliferation. Conclusion -The use of extract of Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi and Carapa guianensis Aublet oil favored the gastric wound healing in rats.RESUMO -Racional -A gastrorrafia isolada ou associada ao uso de adesivos biológicos constituiu ao longo da história da cirurgia a forma usual de promover a cicatrização nas lesões gástricas; entretanto, o uso de fitoterápico tem sido cada vez mais empregado para auxiliar o processo cicatrical. Objetivo -Avaliar a cicatrização de ferida provocada no estômago de ratos com uso do extrato hidroalcoólico de Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi e óleo da Carapa guianensis Aublet. Métodos -Foram utilizados 90 ratos, adultos, machos, distribuídos em três grupos: grupo aroeira, grupo controle e grupo andiroba, os quais foram subdivididos em três subgrupos de cinco animais conforme o momento da morte induzida (sete, 14 e 21 dias). Todos foram submetidos ao mesmo procedimento cirúrgico (lesão e rafia do estômago) diferindo apenas que os animais dos grupos aroeira e andiroba receberam dose diária de 100 mg/kg do extrato hidroalcoólico e do óleo, via gavagem, enquanto o grupo controle recebeu solução salina isotônica. Os parâmetros avaliados foram: alterações macroscópicas e microscópicas, teste de resistência à insuflação de ar atmosférico e teste pela força de tração. SummaryBrazilian pepper tree (Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi) from the Anacardiaceae family is native to Central and South America. In folk medicine, S. terebinthifolius has been used as a remedy for ulcers, respiratory problems, wounds, rheumatism, gout, diarrhea, skin ailments and arthritis, as well as to treat tumors and leprosy. The Brazilian pepper tree has various biological properties and it is a source of many bioactive compounds. Several classes of compounds can be found in extracts obtained from these plants, such as terpenes and flavonoids. Essential oils obtained by steam distillation or extraction by solvents from berries or leafs is rich in monoterpenes and shows interesting antioxidant activity. It has displayed good-to-very strong in vitro antifungal actions against numerous fungi, as well as Candida. The essential oil and leaves have demonstrated in vitro antibacterial activity against numerous bacterial strains.

RESUMOEste estudo teve como objetivo caracterizar a estrutura paramétrica e o estoque de carbono de indivíduos dearoeira (Myracrodruon urundeuvaAll.) presente em um fragmento de floresta estacional decidual localizadoem Jataí, GO. Para avaliação do fragmento, foi realizado um censo, mensurando todos os indivíduos com cap (circunferência a 1,3 m do solo) ≥ 15,7 cm e georreferenciando-os. Após estabelecer as classes diamétricas,mensurou-se a altura total de 10 árvores por classe para o ajuste e seleção de um modelo hipsométrico e obtenção do volume, biomassae estoque de carbono. Foram identificados 1807 indivíduos distribuídos em toda a área do fragmento,os quais estão distribuídos em classes diamétricas com distribuição sigmoidal, com exceção para as árvores da primeira classe. O diâmetro médio das árvores foi de 15,5 cm. A equação hipsométrica selecionada para o povoamento foi ln (H) = 2,85102 -4,66042 dap -1 , com R 2 = 77,8% e erro padrão residual de ± 1,6 m. O volume de madeira oriundo dos indivíduos de aroeira mensurados foide 45 m³/ha, com produção de 40 t/ha de biomassa e estoque de 20 t/ha de carbono. ABSTRACTThis study aimed to characterize the parametric structure and carbon stock of individuals of aroeira (Myracrodruon urundeuva All.) present in a fragment Decidual Seasonal Forest located in Jataí, Goiás, Brazil. For evaluation of the fragment, a Forest Census was conducted, measuring up all individuals with cbh (circumference at breast height at 1.30 m) ≥ 15.7 cm. All trees measured were georeferenced. After establishing the diameter classes, measured to total height of 10 trees per class for setting and selecting a hypsometric model and obtain the volume, biomass and carbon stock. 1807 individuals were identified distributed in the area, which are divided into diameter classes with sigmoidal distribution, except for the trees of the first class. The average diameter tree was 15.5 cm. The hypsometric equation selected for the settlement was ln (H) = 2.85102 -4.66042 dap -1 with R 2 = 77.78 % and residual standard error of ± 1.6 m. The volume of wood obtained was 45 m³/ha with production of 40 t/ha of biomass and of 20 t/ha of stock carbon.
