“…One of the main reasons for this result is the fact that these methods are based on different reaction mechanisms. The DPPH assay is based on a hydrogen radical donating to a certain substance, the TRP assay is based on electron transfer between the substrate and tested sample, while the β-carotene bleaching assay is based on spearing the already present antioxidant [ 26 ]. These results clearly demonstrate the significance of applying more than one analytical method when assessing the antioxidant activity of some new extracts.…”
