Objective:The present research work aims to evaluate the hypolipidemic activity of arogyavardhini and zpter tablet in high fat diet (HFD) induced hyperlipidemia in wistar rats. Methods:Wistar rats were divided in 5 groups. The normal control group received standard pellet diet. The HFD group received HFD rich in cholesterol. The HFD+Arogyavardhini group received HFD rich in cholesterol along with Arogyavardhini treatment. The HFD+zpter group received HFD rich in cholesterol along with zpter treatment. The standard Control group received HFD rich in cholesterol and treatment with Atorvastatin. Serum Lipid profile estimation and histopathological estimations done at end treatment. Group means were compared with Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) followed by Tukey's post-hoc analysis (P<0.05).Result: HFD group shows significant (P<0.05) increase in total cholesterol (TC) levels (207.15 mg/dl) and triglyceride (TG) levels (223.83 mg/dl) when compared with standard pellet fed rats (TC=151.05 mg/dl and TG=164.67 mg/dl). Treatment with Arogyavardhini significantly (P<0.05) reduces the increased levels of TC (160.123 mg/dl) and TG (189.5 mg/dl) in hyperlipedimic rats. Treatment with Zpter significantly (P<0.05) reduces the increased levels of TC (163.89 mg/dl) and TG (193.167 mg/dl) in hyperlipedimic rats, which is comparable to standard treatment atorvastatin (TC= 155.81 mg/dl, TG=180.33 mg/dl). Conclusion:The observations in this study suggest that, herbal formulations arogyavardhini and zpter have the potential to overcome hyperlipidemia.

Hyperlipidemia is a popular disorder and a state of body where there is elevated level of triglyceride above 200mg/dl, LDL above 160mg/dl, Total cholesterol above 200mg/dl and HDL below40mg/dl. Now it can be found on every other person, when LDL increases it travels through our blood vessels and tends to accumulate in the vessels the accumulation is not for lipids only it consists of calcium and fibrous plaque, and this scenario leads to atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis causes narrowing of blood vessels, leads to lesser blood flow to the heart results in angina pectoris and gradually heart attack. There are many marketed medicines fighting against this, but they have adverse effects like muscle toxicity. Here, are some natural remedies which we come across everyday are fighting these situations which are very easily available in nature, and we can take it in our regular diet.

The nutraceutical effect of Scenedesmus dimorphus for obesity and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease–linked metabolic syndrome

Obesity is a major cause of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), which is identified as a characteristic related to metabolic syndrome. This study focuses on the benefits of Scenadesmus dimorphus as a nutraceutical to overcome NAFLD-linked metabolic syndrome caused by obesity. The research used 30 mice (Mus musculus) divided into six groups: normal control, obesity control (OC), and drug control (Orlistat) and S. dimorphus administrated orally for 21 days in obese mice with NAFLD-linked metabolic syndrome with doses of 5 mg/20 g body weight (BW), 10 mg/20 g BW, and 15 mg/20 g BW. The administration of a high-fat diet can cause obese mice to suffer from NAFLD, resulting in an increase in liver enzymes and changes in lipid metabolism. Administration of S. dimorphus at 15 mg/20 g BW decreases the activity of liver enzymes and improves liver function. The statistics test showed significant differences (p < 0.05 analysis of variance) to decrease the liver enzyme activity of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, and alkaline phosphatase compared to OCs. Administration of S. dimorphus resulting in metabolism changes showed a significant (at p < 0.05) decrease in total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and increased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Microalgae S. dimorphus is beneficial as a nutraceutical to manage obesity and reverse NAFLD-linked metabolic syndrome in obese mice.
