“…This test was performed as previously described to determine anhedonia, one of the core symptoms of major depression in humans. Briefly, during the acclimation period 72 h before the test, the mice were given ad libitum access to two bottles of 1% sucrose solution w/v for the first 24 h, followed by the replacement of one bottle of sucrose solution with tap water for the second 24 h.
