Anti-thrombotic effects of α-linolenic acid isolated from Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim seeds

Abstract: BackgroundThe current study was to evaluate the anti-thrombotic effect of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) which was isolated and purified from Jiaomu in vivo.MethodsThe seeds were crushed and subsequently subjected to saponification, acid hydrolysis, gradient freezing, urea inclusion and complexation of silver nitrate to obtain the unsaturated fatty acids. The chemical characteristics of isolated ALA were validated by 1HNMR, 13CNMR and mass spectrometry, and then the anti-thrombotic effect of ALA and its mixture wi… Show more

“…This is known to inhibit melanogenesis by downregulation of MITF via ERK activation. [13][14][15][16][17][18] For instance, compound 1 showed six signals in 13 C NMR spectrum corresponding to one thione (δ 194.9), two olefinic (δ 139.2 and 136.1), two methylene (δ 47.1 and 27.2), and one methylthio (δ 17.5) carbons. The melanin contents and cell viabilities with varying concentrations (10-40 μg/mL) were also examined for Hex and EtOAc fractions ( Figure 1).…”

“…In addition, ZBM is used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of abdominal pain, dyspepsia, parasitosis, and eczema. Recent studies have revealed the many pharmacological effects of ZBM, including antibacterial, anti‐inflammatory, antioxidant, neuroprotective and anti‐ wrinkles (Artaria, Maramaldi, Bonfigli, Rigano, & Appendino, ; Tang et al, ; Yang et al, ; Zhang, Luo, et al, ).…”
