“…In western countries, the synchronization incidence of both tumor types is as high as 35.8%. [23] However, previous studies have shown some differences in FA composition between GC and CRC patients, and this could be attributed to the comparison of different sample types including racial differences and varying detection methods. However, in this study, we have undertaken for the first time, the direct comparison of FAs composition in erythrocyte and platelet membranes of GC and CRC patients using GC-MS in Chinese Han population.…”

“…Specific integrin heterodimers are expressed in different cancer cells, and the growth and migration of the cells depend on the interactions between the integrins and their extracellular ligands. Integrins link the extracellular matrix to intracellular signaling molecules and regulate a number of cellular processes, including adhesion, signaling, motility, survival, gene expression, growth, and differentiation [Deb et al, ; Park et al, ]. Endometrial cancer cells express high levels of αvβ3 compared to normal endometrium [Castelbaum et al, ] and αvβ3 has been shown to be involved in tumor metastasis.…”

“…Although CD43 is associated in the development of several types of cancer (23)(24)(25), it is also involved in the immune response to several pathogens, such as Trypanosoma cruzi, HIV, and MTB (26)(27)(28). CD43 may bind specifically to Mycobacteria but not to other types of bacteria (18,19,29).…”
