“…Few studies concerning the use of carotenoids in polymeric packaging materials are found in literature. Their application have distinct approaches: β‐carotene and lycopene have been used as thermal and photo‐oxidative stabilizants of polymers; astaxanthin has been used with the target of producing antioxidant active packaging to food; and bixin has been used to obtain colored films . In general, results show that despite presenting low stability to oxygen, ultraviolet radiation and sunlight, carotenoids produced films with enhanced thermo‐oxidative stability.…”
