An experiment was conducted to evaluate the inclusion effects of Dried Brewery Spent Grain (DBSG) to know its effect on growth performance and meat quality on poultry. Completely randomized design was used to compare the treatments in five replications. The treatments used were 15% DBSG (T1), 20% DBSG (T2), 25% DBSG (T3), Commercial feed (T4) and (0% DBSG) scavenging bird was used as a control. Each treatment contained 10 birds including 200 chickens in the whole investigation. The major factors body weight, carcasses and organs weight, cholesterol, total protein, albumin, and calcium were evaluated. Results showed that mean body weight of the experimental bird after 60 days was not significantly different (p>0.05) among the dietary treatments, i.e., T1 (781.46 g), T2 (738.36 g), T3 (728.91 g) and T4 (753.38 g). Carcass, breast muscle, thigh, wing, shank, liver and spleen were not significantly different (p>0.05) in weight between DBSG included diet and commercial feed. However, dressing percentage (59.3%) of T4 and gizzard (43.20 gm.) in T3 was significantly higher than other treatments. The significantly higher (p<0.05) amount of cholesterol found in T4 (312.01 mg/dl) followed by control diet (239.46 mg/dl), both of which were above than reference range (129-297 mg/dl). However, in other treatments i.e., T1, T2 and T3, the cholesterol content was in between the reference range. Similarly, same level (p>0.05) of total protein, albumin and calcium content in blood serum observed in BSG included diet and commercial diet. Hence, 15% to 20% inclusion of BSG could be the optimum level in diets of New Hampshire chickens.

The study was conducted at National Animal Nutrition Research Center, Khumaltar to examine the effect of comfrey on growth performance and carcass characteristics of Turkey from 8 th weeks to 22 nd of age. A total of 84 8 th week of age unsexed turkey chicks were allocated randomly into four treatment with three replication having seven birds in each replication using completely randomized design (CRD). All the turkey were kept in adjustment period for one week.During the experimental periods, four experimental diets were Control (concentrate diet, (T0)) and 10%, 20% and 30% comfrey included diet i.e. treatment (T1), treatment (T2) and treatment (T3), respectively. The results showed that at earlier days of experiment, the feed intake of comfrey inclusion diet was lower.However, the intake of feed increase significantly (p<0.05) at 30% comfrey included diet. The mean weekly weight of the turkey with diet of 30% comfrey included was significantly lower (p<0.05) up to 11 th weeks of age, but the weight of the birds were found similar at later stage of growth. There was no significant difference in live weight, carcass weight and other visceral organs weight except chest, back, shank and lungs weight. The results implied that the comfrey forage can be incorporated in formulated diet of turkey at the inclusion level of 20% for higher production performance with low feed intake. In coming days, further study on nutrients component of comfrey improving immune modulation, meat quality and production of safe meat production need to be carried out.

Legumes cultivation is subjected to different constraints, which reduce productivity, particularly effects of global warming, and other constraints. While the large diversity of legumes play an important contributing role to food and nutrition security by the sustainable agriculture (crop and livestock systems) and food systems worldwide. Improving legumes production needs numerous strategies achievement proper production for humanity. Through different ways that include policy creativities to encourage legume cultivation, produce legume varieties adapted to changing climatic conditions. In addition to using proper agricultural strategies to increase the availability of legumes like increasing annual cultivation by both horizontal extensions by increasing planted area and reclamation the poor soil and using intensive planting system as a Vertical development tool. Besides, planting legumes with other crops in the intercropping system, as well as involving legumes into the annual agriculture system, improving postharvest processing to minimize crop losses. Furthermore, using modern technology in agriculture like smart agriculture to increase legumes productivity. There are many health benefits to legume crops due to their component, particularly protein, which reaches two or three-fold as in other crops such as cereals, which contain less than half of the protein in legumes. In addition to carbohydrates, folic acid, fibers, also, legumes are considered low-fat seeds. In addition, to using leguminous crops as fodder resources for animals both directly and as a part of different feeds for livestock and poultry.
