In living life as a part of a nation and state, people sometimes feel confused about what is more important between the country and the state, and they sometimes even underestimate the two. The state is an organization of power from the fellowship of human life, while the nation refers to the harmony of human life. A country must have its own national identity that differs from other countries since the national identity of a nation shows its personality. This study aims to observe the condition of national identity among the young generation and attempts to overcome the threat of a national identity crisis. The method used in this study is descriptive analysis with data collection techniques by conducting surveys and interviews. The population in this study consist of private high school and university students. In this study, the sample used was 160 people aged 15-20 years. The results indicated that the young generation is at a critical stage of national identity. It was caused by their inabilities to wisely use technology and a lack of sense of nationalism as well as love for their homeland. This study found many, lacks as it is seen in the students who still used their respective regional languages because they were vulnerable to any trigger according to the perspectives, principles, and goals of each student. Furthermore, based on research results, teenagers tend to be more fond of foreign cultures and consider Indonesian cultural heritage outdated. For this reason, it is necessary to instill a sense of pride and love for the homeland among young people so that the culture remains sustainable. The researchers suggest the Indonesian people, especially the young generation to have more concern about the national identity of the Indonesian nation since it is essential to increase the horizon of knowledge, and it is also hoped that the young generation can apply an understanding on national identity and be able to implement the points of Pancasila in life nation, society, and state.

National identity is an identity that distinguishes one nation from another. The rapid development of globalization in the digital era has been able to influence national identity and has the potential to undermine the nation's cultural values. One example is the change in the function of fashion from what was originally only a primary need, now it has doubled as a lifestyle and trend of people in the world. However, the fashion trend in Indonesia is dominated by the influence of foreign cultures. Fashion from western countries and Korea has become the daily consumption of Indonesian people. Therefore, the acculturation of Indonesian culture with current fashion trends needs to be done so as not to further fade the nation's national identity. Batik as an intangible cultural heritage can also become the national identity of the Indonesian nation. So, researchers took the initiative to acculturate batik with current fashion trends in an effort to strengthen the national identity of the Indonesian nation. Knowing the interest of the younger generation, regarding our innovation in the form of acculturating batik with fashion trends. Survey-based research method by providing open-ended questions related to respondents' interest in acculturating batik with contemporary fashion trends to the population of the young group aged 15-19 years through an online survey with 100 samples and 9 samples for interviews with the surrounding distribution area around the islands of Borneo and Java. The younger generation is proud when wearing batik, but they don’t have the habit of using batik in their daily life. Researchers offer acculturation innovations to all respondents and they are interested in our innovations because they can still follow fashion trends in addition to wearing batik as their daily clothes and can give the effort to strengthen their national identity.

Urban Muslims are one of the unique communities in society. This can be seen from the symbolization of urban Muslims that is different from traditional Muslim societies, in Islamic films. Urban characteristics in Indonesia's populist culture show the dialectic of urban Muslim life in the face of a socio-religious context. Urban Muslims are required to actualize themselves in complex urban life with social class conflicts, social deviations, and cultural orientations. This article aims to identify the symbols of urban Muslims in film when God falls in love using interpretive symbol analysis using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory. This article concludes that the symbolization of urban Muslims in populist culture Islamic film is concentrated on three things: 1) visual communication 2) narrative 3) storyline contextualization. Urban Muslims have unique symbol characteristics 1) religious tolerance 2) anti-establishment 3) self-actualization 4) self-satisfaction oriented.
