In the literature, studies have evidenced the efforts adopted by firms to develop digital technology with the hope of achieving sustainable decisions and competitive performance. However, studies have yet to provide an extensive explanation of the mechanisms used by firms in their digital technology adoption to impact and enhance value, particularly among small and medium enterprises (SMEs). In this regard, accounting information has served as a fundamental basis for business decision-making and the extensive use of digital technology has paved the way for the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting functions in modifying information relating to such functions. More specifically, a digital accounting system (DAS) enables the reporting and processing of large transaction amounts and generates the data required for analysis. However, despite these advantages, SMEs have been slow in their adoption and usage of DASs. Accordingly, this study drew upon resource-based view theory and the technology-organization-environment framework to propose an integrated model for examining the determinants and impact of using DAS among SMEs. The proposed model encapsulates the use and performance aspect of DAS. The study utilized a self-administered survey questionnaire as the primary data collection instrument. Data from 183 SMEs in Jordan were analyzed using partial least squares-structural equation modeling. The findings reveal that compatibility, organizational readiness, top management support and government support all had significant effects on DAS usage, which, in turn, had a positive and significant effect on DAS performance. With regard to the moderating effects, COVID-19 was found to have a moderating role on the DAS usage–DAS performance relationship. The study findings explain the way firms can enhance their DAS use to obtain optimum performance, thereby contributing to the literature on the antecedents and effects of using current information technology/information systems. The study recommends that the government of Jordan prepare and carry out a campaign concerning the importance of DASs for SMEs.

Purpose: This study focuses on establishing the effect of credit risk management on the profitability of the Centenary Bank Kabale Branch. Credit Risk Management was operationalized as credit risk identification, risk assessment, and risk control, while profitability was operationalized as Return on Equity, Return on Assets, and Non-Performing Loans. Research methodology: The study population comprised of 140 respondents. A sample size of 103 respondents was obtained using the Krejcie and Morgan 1970 table for sample determination. This study adopted a mixed method approach. Quantitative data were collected using Self-Administered Questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson’s linear correlation coefficient. Qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using content analysis. Results: The findings indicate that the majority of the respondents were male, aged 31–40 years, and bachelor’s degree holders. Risk identification (r=0.882), risk assessment (r=0.776), and risk controls (r=0.829) have a significant positive relationship with profitability at the central bank. Limitations: The limitations include bias from the respondents and the study being conducted in only one branch, making generalization difficult. Contribution: These investigations have informed Centenary Bank managers of the importance of credit risk identification, risk assessment, and risk control. Managers should focus on mitigation measures to reduce risks, create a credit risk assessment team to evaluate risks, establish strategies, and prioritize risk management practices by implementing policies in place. The findings contribute to the literature on credit risk management in terms of the central bank. Novelty: Previous similar research only studied how environmental accounting is implemented in a hospital and did not compare its implementation before, during, and after a pandemic.

The rapid growth of regional economy can effectively solve the financial difficulties of some large enterprises, and can also provide important guarantees for the sustainable economic development of some regions. In modern financial regional entities, commercial banks, conglomerates, and third-party technology companies are the main modules. Financial development issues in different regions need to be addressed through the design of solutions. In the cross domain and even cross border activities of regional economy, it is necessary to integrate some existing financial tools, as well as financial services such as big data and digital technology, to integrate. In the construction of a new regional financial model, regional financial health is a major development issue, and it is necessary to take dredging regional financial development as an important field to promote the rapid development of the real economy. In recent years, learning in natural language processing has achieved cross era development. With the growth of the complexity and dynamics of network information, computer algorithms have become an important key issue in solving network information. Although high-quality recommendation algorithms have been widely used, in order to solve problems that traditional algorithms cannot solve, this paper proposes a machine learning based algorithm based on the needs of financial entities. At the same time, in order to enable the rapid development of finance, there is a new development model that conducts behavioral simulation calculations based on economic development in order to achieve coordinated economic development.
