Analytics of oxidative stress markers in the early diagnosis of oxygen DNA damage

Abstract: Under homeostatic conditions, an equilibrium state between amounts of free radicals formed and their scavenging is observed. Free radicals are destructive only when present in excess. Pathological changes within cells and tissues can result from a persistent excess of free radicals. Living organisms are increasingly exposed to oxidative stress, resulting in oxidative DNA modifications. One such modification is 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG). It is considered a biomarker of oxidative stress and oxidative … Show more

“…Finally, we investigated the involvement of oxidative stress and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in the inhibitory effect by ipragliflozin on liver steatosis and fibrosis in FLS-ob/ob mice. Since 8-OHdG has been reported to be a hallmark of oxidative stress, 10 changed by the treatment with ipragliflozin. As representative ER stress markers, we measured hepatic mRNA levels of ATF3, CHOP, C-JUN and NUPR1 ( Table 2).…”

“…Oxidative stress along with the disruption of phospholipid membranes were also reflected by a higher level of 8‐isoprostane in PC patients. In addition, we observed a possible damage to genetic information, which was indicated by a slight increase of 8‐hydroxyguanosine and 8‐hydroxydeoxyguanosine in PC patients. Although the differences within the leukotriene C/D/E 4 cascade were negligible, the activation of the patient immune system was expressed by the considerably increased level of leukotriene B 4 , the primary inflammation marker …”

“…26 The 8-OHdG/10 6 dG levels were studied in several pathological conditions such as cancer types, diabetes mellitus, arteriosclerosis, neurodegenerative disorders of the brain, and autoimmune diseases. 27 This is the first study to investigate the oxidative DNA damage in children with UDT. The 8-OHdG/10 6 dG level of the UDT group was significantly higher than those of the healthy control group.…”
