Abstract:In offshore wells, the pressure fluctuations caused by the ocean tide can be used to inform on the mechanical properties of the reservoir, in particular its compressibility. Such phenomena is not associated with water movement, except at the microscopic level. In heterogeneous reservoirs, these pressure oscillations can cause macroscopic movement of water, which can serve as the basis for the estimation of reservoir flow properties. The purpose of this study is to develop a set of analytical solutions that des… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
