Analysis on the shift strategy of hydro-mechanical infinitely variable transmission based on the orthogonal test

Abstract: This article focuses on the shift strategy of hydro-mechanical infinitely variable transmission. A computer simulation is carried out to investigate the shift strategy, and the simulation results are verified by the test data. There are four typical working conditions in the continuous shift process, among which the shift process from F 2 (N) to F 3 (P) plays a decisive role in shift quality. The shift strategy based on the physical parameters from F 2 (N) to F 3 (P) is lower engine rotating speed, smaller loa… Show more

“…Pan et al 33 and Zhu et al 50 studied the effects of physical parameters (engine rotating speed, load torque, main circuit pressure, and speed valve flow rate) and shift time on shift quality. Shift time had previously always been ignored, because it played a limited role in a few clutch systems.…”

“…15,16 For example, Ahn et al 17 developed a speed control algorithm for the combined regulation of engine and transmission that reduces the fuel consumption of the entire vehicle by 7.5%. Pan et al 18 divided the shift process of HMCVT into four stages on the basis of physical parameters and shift time to study the shift strategy of HMCVT; this division effectively improves shift quality. Cheng et al 19 proposed a control system, used different control strategies for various objects for simulation and experimentation, and proposed an effective multi-level speed regulation strategy.…”

“…Constant tractor working speed is the premise for ensuring working quality. The research on speed control for HMCVT in literature 1624 used economy, power or shift quality as the speed control goal and did not establish the corresponding speed control strategy in accordance with the change in working resistance during the operation of the tractor to ensure constant speed to the maximum extent.…”
