In this paper, the dynamic behavior of the nonlinear full-car model having active suspensions with nine degrees of freedom including driver, passenger seats and antilock braking system (ABS) is analyzed. The comfort analysis of a driver and passengers of the full car with active suspension model including all forms of nonlinearities is very rare in the literature. The literature also lacks the comfort analysis of the driver and passengers, while the car accelerates and decelerates during cornering. The nonlinearities in the proposed model include the dry friction nonlinearities of the suspension dampers and the geometric nonlinearities of the four corners of the car chassis. Modified adaptive NeuroFuzzy Takagi-Sugeno-Kang (NFTSK) control strategies are presented for the vehicle active suspension control to improve the ride quality, road holding capability and vehicle stability. Separate control strategy is used for ABS to avoid wheel locking and slipping for providing better roadwheel contact. The paper also investigates the coordination of active suspensions and ABS to further enhance the performance of the ABS control. To validate the performance of the proposed intelligent control strategies, the response of the vehicle nonlinear model due to road irregularities is evaluated using various performance indexes. The results are then compared with passive control to verify the performance of modified adaptive NFTSK control.

The whole-body vibration occurs in many occupational activities, promoting discomfort in the working environment and inducing a variety of psycho – physical changes where consequences as a permanent dysfunction of certain parts of the organism may occur. The main goal of this short systematic review is finding the articles with the most reliable results relating whole-body vibrations to buses and, to compare them with the results of drivers’ lower limbs musculoskeletal disease which occurs as a consequence of many year exposure. PRISMA Statement Methodology was used and thereby 27 Scientific Journals and 25 Index - Database were searched through where 3996 works were found, of which 24 were included in this paper. As a leading standard for analysis of the whole-body vibration the ISO 2631 – 1 is used, while in some papers as an additional standard the ISO 2631-5 is also used for the sake of better understanding the vibrations. Furthermore, the European Directive 2002/44 / EC is included where a daily action exposure to the whole-body vibrations is exactly deter-mined. All the results presented in the paper were compared with the aforesaid standards. After having searched the databases, papers that deal with research of the impact of the vibration on the driver’s lower limbs did not contain any information’s on the described problem.

This article presents an analysis of a modern-day vehicle semi-active suspension performance impact on comfort properties of its occupant. Vehicles chosen for the investigation had two different suspension-driving options, characterized as Comfort and Sport modes. These options change such vehicle parameters as suspension stiffness, algorithm of gearbox operation, and sensitivity of the steering system. Altering these two modes while driving at different speeds and on different road surfaces, vertical accelerations, affecting the occupant seat, were measured. Experiments and data processing were carried out according to ISO 2631-1 standard. After filtering the aforementioned vertical accelerations, the occupant comfort sensation was expressed as the vibration dose value (VDV) and the root mean square (RMS) of vibration acceleration value. Once the fast Fourier transform (FFT) was applied and vertical accelerations were converted to the frequency domain, spectral analysis of accumulated measurements was performed. After evaluating the comfort of an occupant, a summary of the vehicle suspension-driving mode influence is presented.Comfort, semi-active suspension, root mean square, vibration dose value, spectral analysis, ISO 2631-1.
