Analysis of United Kingdom Off-Highway Construction Machinery Market and Its Consumers Using New-Sales Data

Abstract: The off-highway construction machinery market and its consumers have attracted minimal previous research. This study addresses that void by analysing annual UK (volume/portfolio) new-sales data for the ten most popular products within that market, 1990-2010 inclusive. Graphical, descriptive statistical, Pearson-correlational, auto-correlational and elementary modelling are employed to identify: contrasts in sales regarding high-and low-volume items; growth trends and significant recessionary effects on volumes… Show more

“…Utilization of industrial vehicles over the past decade has been increased drastically. The global usage of excavator has been improving rapidly when compared to the other industrial vehicles (Holt & Edwards, 2013). The excavator operators endure the physical ache and fatigue in the neck, shoulder and lower back region due the coalescence of static load during prolonged sitting, regularly in awkward postures, liability to whole body vibration and handling the vehicle for a prolonged working period (Zimmerma, Cook, & Rosecrance, 1997).…”
