Life skills learning is one of the learning processes where students learn various concepts and apply them in daily life. In the process of learning, students are faced with certain situations so that they get a new learning experience perceived benefits. The objective of this research was: 1) to know the mastery of academic and social life skills in practice of making alum from waste can, 2) to know the motivation of students in the implementation of the practice of making alum from waste can, 3) know the concept mastery aspect in the implementation of the practice of making alum of waste can. This research is a quasi-experiment with one-group posttest study design. Research subjects were students of Chemistry Education Department who take inorganic chemistry experiment. Instruments used were observation sheet and rubric indicator of work assessment (for academic and social life skill) and questionnaire (for motivation), and subjective test: pre-test and post-test (for conceptualization). The research data was analyzed by qualitative descriptive analysis technique, that is by calculating the average of every aspect that is assessed and converting it into qualitative criteria. Based on the result of research indicated that student's motivation in practice gets good category while the value of mastery of academic skill and social life skill was in good category and mastery of concept got very good category.

This study aims to describe achievement motivation on outstanding students in learning to write at the fifth grade primary schools students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Subjects in this study were 18 achieving students. The data were collected through questionnaire, interview and observation. Analytical techniques used are interactive analysis consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the achievement motivation on outstanding students in learning writing is good, this happens because of several factors that support outstanding students in learning writing have good achievement motivation. There are factors of individuals (intern) and environmental factors (external), an individual factor which consists of 1) the competence of students; 2) belief to succeed, while environmental factors consists of 1) the competitive situation; 2) support from parents, 3) schools, including how to teach teachers.

The low student achievement motivation is something that must be considered. Parents attention became one of the factors that can influence student achievement motivation. The purpose of this study to describe the contribution of parent attention to student’s achievement motivation in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Padang. This research uses regression analysis. In the research took the sample of 233 students by using purposive sampling technique. It was used instrument "Wira Solina Parents Attention Scale" with reliability value is 0.888, and "Achievement Motivation Scale" with reliability value is 0.885. The results of research showed that: (1) Parents attention (Mother) in the high category; (2) Parents attention (Father) in the medium category; (3) student achievement motivation in the medium category; (4) the contribution of parents attention (mother) to the achievement motivation is 14.4%; (5) the contribution of the parents attention (father) to the achievement motivation is 12.9%; and (6) the contribution of parents attention (Mother and Father) to the achievement motivation are 15.6%. The results of research showed that parents’ attention (mother and father) need to improved student achievement motivation, so it can be recommended by counselor teacher to give guidance and counseling services in the school and involved their parents to improve student achievement motivation.
