Durch direkte Veresterung von 99%iger Caprinsäure, Laurinsäure, Myristinsäure, Palmitinsäure und Stearinsäure mit Äthylenglycol, Diäthylenglycol, Thiodiäthylenglycol, Triäthylenglycol, 1,2‐Propandiol, 1,3‐Propandiol, 1,2‐Butandiol, 1,3‐Butandiol, 1,4‐Butandiol, 1,5‐Pentandiol, 2,5‐Hexandiol, 1,6‐Hexandiol, 1,8‐Octandiol, 1,10‐Decandiol, 1,12‐Dodecandiol, 1,2,4‐Butantriol, Glycerin, 1,2,6‐Hexantriol, Trimethylolpropan und Pentaerythrit im Molverhältnis 1:1.25 wurden 100 Fettsäurepartialester synthetisiert und durch Waschen mit Na2SO4‐Lösung bzw. durch Umkristallisieren aus Äthylalkohol weitgehend vom freien mehrwertigen Alkohole befreit. Die fettchemischen Kennzahlen, die DC‐Trennung in Stoffklassen und die DC‐Trennung der mehrwertigen Alkohole erlauben eine einwandfreie Beurteilung dieser als Emulgatoren, Stabilisatoren und Lösungsvermittler geeigneten Fettsäurepartialester. Alle Fettsäurepartialester sind Gemische, die sich, je nach mehrwertiger Alkoholkomponente, durch die DC in Monoester, Diester, Triester, Tetraester und mitunter auch in stellungsisomere Mono‐ und Diester auftrennen lassen. Über eine Reihe von Erfahrungen und Beobachtungen bei der Synthese und Analyse der Fettsäurepartialester wird berichtet.
