Analysis of magnetic shielding problems using finite elements

Abstract: The academic problem described in this paper concerns an electromagnetic structure used to prevent the penetration of externally produced magnetic fields in a given region of space. The region to be protected consists of a channel of square geometry situated in the air-filled space that separates the pole pieces of a magnetized M-19 steel structure.
