Analysis of Lighting Performance in the Hall of the Faculty of Engineering, State University of Gorontalo by using the DIALux Evo 9.0 Simulation

The Studio Room for the Department of Architecture is an essential part of the learning process because the main competency for the Department of Architecture is Design. The design activities carried out by architectural students in the Studio Room are carried out for a long duration. So it requires a studio space that can facilitate these activities comfortably. One of the comfort factors needed is lighting, where design drawing activities require sufficient lighting. In this study, a simulation was carried out in the UNISA architectural studio room using the software dialux Evo 9.1 to determine the suitability of the lighting level in the studio room based on the requirements of SNI 03-6197-2011. The results of this study indicate that the UNISA Architecture studio room still does not meet the standards in terms of the level of lighting, so it requires lighting adjustments by adding and changing the type of artificial lighting.

Meeting the needs of light in hospitals can be obtained through natural and artificial lighting. Natural lighting comes from sunlight that enters the room through window openings. Sunlight is believed to have many benefits, especially in terms of health effects. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in natural lighting obtained from the difference in the size of the openings in the inpatient ward of the Maternal and Child Hospital Design in Jambi City. The research method was carried out through computer simulation with DIALUX Evo 9.1 software by comparing the size of the 2x2m aperture and the 4x2m aperture. The simulation was carried out on September 1, 2021, with average sky conditions at 09.00, 12.00, and 16.00 WIB. The simulation results show that an opening with a size of 4x2m placed in the middle of the wall produces a greater lighting power (397 lux at 09.00, 467 lux at 12.00, and 1707 lux at 16.00) than two openings with a size of 2x2m ( 318 lux at 09.00, 378 lux at 12.00, and 1202 lux at 16.00). From these values, it is shown that the lighting received in the inpatient room is more than adequate following the Standard Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, which is 250 lux. The results of this simulation show that the lighting in the afternoon is greater than in the noon and the morning.

Lighting is one of the essential aspects of architectural design because it is crucial for room ambiance. Artificial and natural lighting affect the architectural element and the furniture. Using simulation tools is beneficial for measuring the reflective level of furniture elements to the room's lighting. DIALux Evo3 is computer software to support artificial and natural lighting simulation for interior spaces up to a particular room standard. This study uses the DIALux Evo3 software to conduct the trial-anderror process. The level of reflection on an interior element affects the lux value. This study will focus on the aspects of the ceiling, chairs, and table furniture using the trial and error method by simulating until a difference looms. The focus simulation focuses on setting the reflective coating in the DIALux Evo3 software on ceiling elements, chairs, and tables. The literature method examines aspects of DIALux Evo3 and the points measured in the simulation process. This simulation uses 15 lamps. This study aims to prove that the choice of paint finishing affects the results produced by the vertical illuminance (adaptive) parameter and utilizes technology in architecture. The conclusion is that interior elements such as ceilings, chairs, and tables with reflective elements affect the artificial light. The aspect with low reflectivity requires a high lux value compared to architectural and interior components with high reflectance
