Analysis of Chlorophyll and Carotenoids Content in Brassica Chinensis Plants Using IoT-Based Sprinkle Irrigation

Abstract: The agricultural sector is currently witnessing the use of Internet of Things (IoT) to drive significant innovations across key interests, particularly irrigation. A sprinkler designed with an Arduino controller was developed in this study. The device is among the fastest growing agricultural irrigation systems. The plant studied is Brassica Chinensis, because this vegetable is one of the most commonly consumed vegetables by Indonesian people. However, emphasis is also placed on plant quality as an important c… Show more

“…The development and management of irrigation systems, which are essential components supporting agricultural development, play a crucial and strategic role (García et al, 2020, Veisi et al, 2022, Carter et al, 2019. Addressing water scarcity can be facilitated by the construction of reservoir, a type of infrastructure built to store rain or river water during the rainy season for subsequent usage during the dry season in terms of irrigation, watering, and fulfilling the water needs of the surrounding community (Sharun et al, 2021, Tang, Wasowski and Juang, 2019, Cheng and Pan, 2020, Noerhayati et al 2022). Furthermore, the reservoir can be used to control floods and maintain water availability during the dry season (Zhang, Wang and Bai, 2021, Dang, Chowdhury and Galelli, 2020, Makhmudova, Djuraev and Khushvaktov, 2021).…”

“…Wastewater treatment by monitoring water quality, is a method of taking regular water samples to analyze the condition and characteristics of water (Harrou et al 2018). Treatment can also be conducted using a monitoring system based on Internet of Things (IoT) with parameters measuring acidity (pH), temperature, and turbidity in water through the internet network (Noerhayati et al 2022; Daigavane and Gaikwad 2017; Hendrawati et al 2019). IoT is a medium for wireless data transmission over the Internet without any interconnection between humans and computers.…”
