Built-up land development will continue to increase over time. Population growth and regional spatial plans are examples of several factors that influence the process of implementing built-up land development in an area. Boyolali Sub-district became an area with rapid development of built-up land that occurred between 2009 and 2019. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the area of land that experienced development and to determine the distribution of the development of undeveloped land into built-up land. This study used satellite imagery in 2009 and 2019 of Boyolali. Those images are interpreted and digitized, resulting in two maps of built-up land of Boyolali Sub-district in 2009 and 2019. The change of undeveloped land into built-up land is not only centered in one place but spread across all areas of the Boyolali Sub-district. The results of this study show that the area of built-up land in Boyolali District increased from 2009 to 2019. The change of undeveloped land into built-up land in Boyolali District was 62.59 ha (625,900 m2) within 10 years.

Land use change is influenced by human activities that affect the land cover of an area. Most of the Karanganyar Regency area is still agricultural land and as the population increases from year to year, it has an impact on land conversion. The purpose of this study is to analyze land cover changes in Karanganyar Regency in 2013 and 2022, analyze the factors that influence land change, and present information on land cover changes using Story Maps. The research method used qualitative descriptive analysis with the Maximum Likelihood Classification method and the results tested for accuracy were obtained from the Kappa method. The results showed that land cover change from 2013 to 2022 was dominated by residential land and paddy fields as much as 11946.10 ha or 14.87% and 14777.35 ha or 18.40%. Factors of land cover change are population growth, relatively cheap land value, easy accessibility, and easy licensing mechanism for infrastructure development. The land cover of Karanganyar Regency from 2013 to 2022 is represented in Story Maps, displaying maps and analysis with an attractive and interactive display.

The Walanae Watershed (DAS) is one of the Walanae – Cenranae Sub Watersheds in several districts, including Wajo, Soppeng, Bone, and Maros regencies. The river flow in the Walanae watershed flows from south to north and empties into Lake Tempe, Wajo Regency. The condition of Lake Tempe, which continues to experience silting due to erosion and sedimentation, is still happening. This siltation resulted in sediment discharges reaching 519,000 m3/year. This siltation can cause a narrowing of the lake area and flooding around Lake Tempe. The purpose of this study is to model erosion control in the Walanae watershed to reduce the level of siltation that occurs in Lake Tempe. Analysis of the erosion rate of the Walanae watershed using the USLE method. The analysis results show that the erosion rate that occurred in 2000 was 187.52 Tons / Ha / Yr, while in 2022, it was 253.336 Tons / Ha / Yr. Scenarios based on land conservation actions can reduce the erosion rate by 149,034 tons/ha / Year. The scenario was carried out by considering slope classes and land cover in the Walanae watershed. In flat to gentle slope conditions, ground cover crops and livestock grazing are needed; in rice fields and dryland agriculture, rural and annuals and mulch reinforcement are needed. Conservation measures are needed in steep to very steep slope classes, such as bench terraces and plant cover crops for agricultural land cover. As for forest areas, permanent vegetation or agroforestry is needed.
