Teacher competence in carrying out Classroom Action Research (CAR) and presenting CAR results in the form of scientific work is a demand as well as a need in improving the quality of learning and teacher professionalism. The Chairperson of the MGMP IPA Malang city said that teachers' abilities and skills in conducting research still needed to be improved, especially for CAR research. The purpose of community service activities is to assist, direct, and collaborate with teachers in classroom action research activities and publish the results. The activities were carried out from June to December 2022. The mentoring activities were carried out in 3 Junior High Schools in Malang represented by one science teacher. Assistance is carried out online and offline. Assistance methods by means of lectures, brainstorming, discussions. The results of the mentoring activities resulted in 3 proposals and a CAR final report with different topics and CAR articles. Teachers have shown an increase in the ability to compile, apply and report CAR and scientific publications in the form of articles after the pre and post tests were carried out.

Scientific work is very important for teachers because scientific articles are an academic function, so writing scientific articles is one of the requirements for teachers to develop their profession and promotions, by writing scientific articles teachers can apply models or find supporting factors for the learning process (Yulhendri et al, 2018) The uniqueness of this research is being able to see and identify any difficulties experienced by researchers, teachers, or lecturers seen from the indicators put forward by Siti Maslakhah, 2011 in (Sinta, Anisa, and Widayanti, 2019) that in writing scientific papers, the author should have 1 ) research problems 2) research methods 3) scientific writing techniques 4) mastery of good and correct language. As an educator, it is necessary to have the ability to write scientific articles; as a writer, educators should understand various techniques before writing a scientific article. The author aims to analyze 1) The ability to understand article writing 2) The ability to find research problems 3) The ability to know the types of research 4) The ability to understand research methods 5) The ability to master writing techniques 6) the ability to use excellent and correct language. This research approach is descriptive qualitative. Sources of data are teachers and lecturers. The data collection technique in this research is a test. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that the ability to write articles for teachers and lecturers was quite good; this was indicated by the respondents' answers stating 1) aspects of the ability to understand article writing with an average of 59.10% 2) aspects of finding problems in articles with an average of 60.6% 3) aspects of the ability to know the types of research with an average of 58.6% 4) aspects of understanding research methods with an average of 60.10% 5) aspects of mastery of writing techniques 53.0% and 6) aspects of using good and correct language with an average of 56.10%

Writing scientific articles is closely related to the references used. The arrangement of references in a scientific article indicates that the article is written based on relevant sources. The current problem faced by teachers in writing scientific articles is the inability to manage references using Mendeley. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct reference management training using Mendeley in writing scientific articles. This activity aims to make it easier for teachers to do citations from various existing reference sources. The activity was carried out for MGMP SMP Negeri Pekanbaru. Participants in this training amounted to 25 teachers spread throughout the city of Pekanbaru. The training method used is in the form of guided guidance. Based on the results and discussion of the activities carried out, it can be concluded that the reference management training using the Mendeley application to write scientific articles for MGMP SMP Negeri Pekanbaru is very effective. The effectiveness of this activity is due to an increase in intelligence in more specific aspects, such as increasing participants' understanding and skills in managing references using the Mendeley application. With Mendeley, teachers can streamline and document several reference sources easily. In addition, Mendeley is also very helpful for teachers in writing scientific articles to be published in the Open Journal System (OJS). Overall, it can be stated that this activity plays an important role for teachers because it can effectively improve the professional competence of teachers in facing future challenges.
