Objective: to identify knowledge, attitudes and practices of physicians and nurses of the Family Health Strategy and a maternity hospital unit about vertical transmission of hepatitis B. Method: a cross-sectional study with a self-administered questionnaire applied to professionals. The data were analyzed according to professional category and site of action, whose differences were tested by χ 2 and significance <5%. Results: professionals recognize viral hepatitis as a disease of compulsory notification; however, not everyone knows its mechanisms of transmission. A large portion of professionals requested serological tests, specifying the marker, especially physicians.The majority of family health nurses did not indicate hepatitis B vaccine for pregnant women, although they knew the immunization schedule. The majority of physicians on the maternity unit had proper knowledge about prevention of vertical transmission. Conclusion: the differences in the knowledge, attitudes and practices about vertical transmission of hepatitis B revealed that the population is at risk, since not all the professionals involved know or properly perform control strategies for vertical transmission of hepatitis B. Nurses dominated vaccination aspects and physicians dominated aspects related to the management of cases with positive serology.

OBJETIVO: Analisar partos acompanhados pelas enfermeiras obstétricas relacionando sua prática com a política de humanização do parto e nascimento. MÉTODOS: Estudo descritivo, retrospectivo, quantitativo, baseado na análise documental de 745 partos acompanhados por enfermeiras obstétricas no ano de 2011 em uma maternidade municipal do Rio de Janeiro. RESULTADOS: As primigestas representaram 44,16% das parturientes. As intervenções mais recorrentes foram a administração de ocitocina e a amniotomia. A posição horizontal dorsal ocorreu em 12,89% dos partos. A incidência de episiotomia foi de 15,52%. Das que não foram submetidas a episiotomia, 36,42% permaneceram com períneo íntegro, havendo apenas um caso de laceração perineal grave. A asfixia neonatal (Apgar < 7) ocorreu em 0,55% dos partos. CONCLUSAO: Evidenciou-se a importância do acompanhamento do trabalho do parto pela enfermeira obstétrica, que valoriza e põe em prática o que é preconizado pelo Ministério da Saúde no que se refere à humanização do parto e nascimento.

ResumoEste estudo trata-se de uma revisão de literatura, com o objetivo de levantar na literatura nacional, qual a atuação dos enfermeiros na humanização do parto. Após pesquisa na base de dados do Capes, foram selecionados 33 artigos, a partir dos critérios de inclusão que posteriormente foram analisados e categorizados. Resultados: Observou-se a ascensão da enfermagem obstétrica através de incentivos de políticas públicas e estas consolidam o processo de humanizar. Conclusão: Apesar das dificuldades encontradas diariamente no exercício da profissão, a enfermagem vem pouco a pouco conquistando seu espaço dentro da obstetrícia, estabelecendo através da sua evolução uma assistência qualificada fundamentada na humanização. HUMANIZATION OF CHILDBIRTH • the role of nurses • AbstractThis study deals with an literature review research with the objective of finding in national literature, which the role of nurses in the humanization of childbirth. After searching the database of Capes, 33 articles were selected based on the inclusion criterion that were later analyzed and categorized. Results: We observed the rise of midwifery by encouraging public policies and these consolidate the process of humanizing. Conclusion: Despite the difficulties encountered daily in the profession, nursing has been gradually winning its way into midwifery, establishing through its evolution qualified assistance based on humanization.
