Background: Arka is commonly found plant in India. It is mostly used for religious purpose in India. In Ayurved, it has in used for various medical preparation. One of such preparation is Arka Lavan. Aim: Pharmaceutico-analytical study of Arka lavan& evaluation for Antimicrobial study Materials: The raw materials Arka patra will be collected from the medicinal plant garden, of Mahatma Gandhi Ayurved College , Hospital & research centre, Salod ( H), wardha. The arka patra will be authenticated by Dravyaguna department. The another raw material is Saindhava Lavan will be procured from Dattatraya Ayurved Rasashala and will be authenticated by Rasashastra & Bhaishajya kalpana Department Arka lavan will be prepared as per the reference.The prepared Arka lavan will be analyzed. Observation and Results: The Arka patra lavan will be assessed for organoleptic, physicochemical and TLC parameters Conclusion: The pharmaceutical & analytical study of Arka lava will provide the standard parameters.

The immune response plays an essential role in the body's defense against infection. Macrophages are promising targets against which to screen agents that modulate immune responses. In vitro analysis, primarily using cell lines, is preferred to screen bioactivity initially. RAW 264.7 cells comprise a model macrophage cell line close to primary murine macrophages. Indonesian people often use the Zingiberaceae family or “empon-empon" in the favorable treatment of several diseases, including immune disorders. This review highlights several studies of Zingiberaceae using RAW 264.7 cells, focusing on the observed immunomodulatory activity and assay methods. The research on RAW 264.7 macrophage cell line in Zingiberaceae was gathered using Scopus, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar from 2012-2021. Based on the reviews, the Zingiberaceae family has immunomodulatory effects by increasing or decreasing inflammatory mediators such as NO, IL-6, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-10, and phagocytosis activity in RAW 264.7 cells. Several methods can assess the activation of RAW 264.7 cells, including cell viability assays using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazolyl-2)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT); measuring nitric oxide production (Griess reaction), cytokine production (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay [ELISA]), and phagocytosis (neutral red uptake assay); and detecting DNA (real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction [qPCR]). The information provided in this review presents avenues for future investigations of the immunomodulatory activity of Zingiberaceae.

Iris kashmiriana belonging to the family Iridaceae, is found commonly in graveyards in the Kashmir region of India, as well as in some areas of Pakistan. This plant is used as a traditional medicinal plant by different local communities. Ethnopharmacological studies have revealed the presence of isoflavones like isonigricin (1) which is a new isoflavone and isoirisolidone (2) and Irisolidone (3) which were isolated first time from a natural source. This emphasis of this review is to focus on traditional uses, pharmacological uses, as well as phytoconstituents present in this species. But as this species is critically endangered also. By exploring more about this species, it might help in getting this species in the least concern or prevent it from being extinct. Scientific investigation has found that this plant has a lot of pharmacological activities like antimicrobial, antitumor, anthelmintic, immunomodulatory, antiseptic, antioxidant, and also used in cold, flu, malaria, joint pain, anti-inflammation, toothache, etc. This plant contains several constituents, including isoflavones, with pharmacological activities some of them are still not been fully explored yet. In this review, an approach was made to study ethnopharmacology, phytochemistry, and pharmacological investigations, of Iris kashmiriana, which can be explored more, so that people could know more about this plant, and start growing this medicinal plant.
