Abstract

Rubidium I 0700 An ortho-Silicate-hydroxide: Rb5[SiO4][OH]. -Colorless single crystals of the title compound are obtained besides yellow Rb 3 ReO 5 from the solid state reaction of Rb 2 O, Rb2CO3, Re and CdO (6:1:1:1, 700°C; sealed Ag-container in a silica tube, 40 h). Rb5[SiO4][OH] crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/m with Z = 4. The unprecedented structure contains layers of edge-sharing distorted trigonal prismatic [(OH)Rb6] moieties and isolated SiO4 tetrahedra. -(KERP, O.; MOELLER*, A.; Z.
