An Optimized Load Balance Solution for Multi-homed Host in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks

Abstract: The imminent wireless technologies are demanding fusion of several networks with diverse technologies. A convenient user device for such an environment is the multihomed host, which is capable of making use of simultaneous multiple connections of heterogeneous networks and smartly distributing/receiving data among them. The aim of this work is to develop a mechanism for assessing the multihoming concept and to propose a system model for increasing its applicability. The proposed model provided a novel user-cen… Show more

“…Then, it developed to the analysis, understanding, and prediction of data, and then, data warehouse and data mining technology appeared. With the development of network information technology, database technology, etc., the amount of information stored in the database by humans increases over time, and adding and deleting technologies of the database are perfected; it provides conditions for the development of data mining technology; the increase in the amount of data also indicates that a technology for processing massive data is bound to emerge [2].…”

“…In addition, some access selection algorithms use network load as the judgment basis for network selection and connect users to a network with the lowest load in order to achieve load balancing. While these algorithms improve the resource utilization rate of HWNs, they do not consider the quality of service (QoS) requirements of users and potentially connect them to a poor-quality network, thus failing to guarantee the QoS and the experience (QoE) [ 8 , 9 ].…”

“…The work in Zhang et al discusses about a better end‐to‐end connection method between GPRS and IEEE 802.11. Several researchers has explored on software‐defined network (SDN)‐based heterogeneous wireless network such as Bhatia et al and Lu et al A user‐centric scheme for multihoming in heterogeneous wireless networks as unequal cost load balance was proposed in Naeem et al where the analytical hierarchy process (AHP), along with a utility equation, is applied to the system model for unequal load balance solution.…”
