An n‐shaped multimode wideband substrate integrated suspended line antenna using characteristic mode analysis

Abstract: An n‐shaped antenna with multimode for wideband application based on substrate integrated suspended line (SISL) platform is presented using characteristic mode analysis (CMA). By exciting three modes simultaneously, a wideband characteristic is achieved. The size of the proposed antenna is 0.74 λ0 × 1.47 λ0 × 0.11 λ0 (where λ0 is the free‐space operating wavelength at the center frequency of 6.205 GHz). The antenna prototype is fabricated and measured. Experimental results show that in the band of 5.1–7.31 GHz… Show more

“…A new platform known as substrate-integrated suspended line (SISL) technology [9][10][11] has been introduced recently. Several kinds of SISL antennas [12][13][14][15][16] that demonstrate the advantages of SISL technology have been proposed with good performances. This paper presents the SISL antenna and array to enhance the bandwidth, gain, and improve filtering performance.…”
