An intelligent home automation control system based on a novel heat pump and Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract: One of technology's main goals is to providing comfort to humans. However, in order to be an aid, it has to be easy to install, use and maintain. The ever growing complexity of technological systems can only be achieved by converging different technologies. This is usually expressed as Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), previews the symbiosis of several technologies in order to make them more accessible. This paper attempts to demonstrate the integration between two technologies such as: Heat-pump System and Wirele… Show more

“…A CRC-32 checksum algorithm is often used in data transmission and data storage systems to detect any alteration or corruption of the data [4]. Many digital sensor devices or wireless networks employ this technique in the form of a packet error check [5][6][7][8][9][10][11]. The packet error checking (PEC) is augmented with original data to check if there have been any modifications in the data packet.…”

“…Most of the previous research [4][5][6][7][8][9][10] can be classified into two main categories: (1) lookup table (LUT) based and (2) matrix transformation (MT) based methods. Recently, parallel platforms such as FPGAs or multi-core CPUs have shown promising results in on-board processing capabilities.…”

“…In the last years, number of research works have been undertaken to deploy prototypes of experimental SBs over WSNs. In particular, the following SB services have been considered: electricity metering and energy saving [4], [15], [16], [17], light and fan speed control [18], ventilation system control [19], [20], temperature sensing [21], occupancy measurement, localization, and motion tracking [5], [6], [22], [23], building surveillance [24], and inhabitant wellness [25]. It should be noticed that Zigbee is the dominant technology used in the experimentations previously mentioned.…”
