“…The Integrated Energy Management (INTEMA) tool facilitates simulation modules aiming to help engineers address challenges regarding achieving a sustainable energy transition, covering both building and district spatial scales. The INTEMA.building submodule performs dynamic in-time simulations for the thermal behavior of the buildings coupled with active energy [36]. INTEMA.grid, on the other hand, offers the capacity to facilitate studies on an expanded scale, thereby aiding the development and maintenance of detailed models pertaining to a wide range of systems, from small energy communities and microgrids to more intricate transmission and distribution systems.…”

“…Trying to follow a holistic approach to the renovation process, the INTEMA.buidling tool is also designed to exchange information with the VERIFY tool (Seitaridis et al, 2022), which is used for the life cycle analysis. Such an approach, allows the consideration of dynamic energy consumption (and/or demand as in the present study) and production data along with basic inventory datasets, able to account also for i) variations in temperatures, ii) any updates in the energy grid mixture (local or even national) and ii) other parameters, which static LCA/LCC approaches cannot account for; thus resulting in underestimations compared to reality.…”

“…It is important to state that the calculations regarding the greenhouse gas emissions life cycle and the lifecycle cost were performed with the VERIFY software platform (Seitaridis et al, 2022), which was coupled properly with the INTEMA.building tool. More specifically, INTEMA.…”
