An innovative encoding/decoding architecture based on two-code keying for SAC-OCDMA systems

Abstract: An elegant encoding/decoding architecture based on two-code keying scheme for high-rate transmission in non-coherent spectral-amplitude-coding optical code-division multipleaccess (SAC-OCDMA) systems, is suggested. To evaluate the performance improvement, a commercial OptiSystem software (Version 12.2.1) is used. The simulation results show that SAC-OCDMA system using the proposed architecture exhibited an enhanced performance.

“…The multiple-access interference (MAI) and Phase Induced Intensity Noise (PIIN) is reduced in OCDMA is accomplished through SAC-OCDMA system that uses a code with the most important minimum cross-correlation and high autocorrelation property. Hence, the ZCC code is the best code with its uniqueness of zero cross-correlation [1][2][3][4]. The ZCC code is a simple binary code designed pattern.…”
