92ünümüzde tek seansta uygulanan kök kanal tedavileri, zaman tasarrufu sağlaması ve hastalar tarafından daha kabul edilir olması gibi özelliklerinden dolayı popülerlik kazanmıştır. The study was conducted using the agar diffusion test. The medicaments used were chlorhexidine gel, calcium hydroxide, and a mixture of chlorhexidine and calcium hydroxide. Enterococcus faecalis and Candida albicans microorganisms were used. A total of six petri dishes were prepared for each microorganism to be three units. Three wells were prepared on each petri dish, 5 mm in diameter and 2 mm deep, with the agar medium. The freshly prepared medicaments were placed on the agar plates, which were inoculated with the test microorganisms. After incubation periods of 24, 48, and 72-hours, the zones of the growth inhibition were observed and measured. Data were statistically evaluated. R Re es su ul lt ts s: : The results differed significantly among the tested materials groups (p <0.05). The chlorhexidin (CHX) gel group showed significantly lager inhibition zones for both E. faecalis and C. albicans in the 48-hours time period, when compared to the other experimental groups (p <0.001). C Co on nc cl lu us si io on n: : Within the limitations of this study, chlorhexidin (CHX) gel has more antimicrobial effect than calcium hydroxide when used as an intracanal medicament.K Ke ey y W Wo or rd ds s: : Chlorhexidine gluconate; calcium hydroxide; endodontics
