An extended exponentiated Hencky energy for transverse isotropy

Abstract: In this contribution we aim to formally extend the promising exponentiated Hencky strain-energy to transversely isotropic problems. This is facilitated by using additional anisotropic logarithmic strain invariants. The potential of the logarithmicstrain driven material response is studied for a numerical example associated to arterial wall mechanics in order to draw a comparison to a more classical material formulation based on the right Cauchy-Green tensor.
