An expert system for vehicle accident reconstruction

Abstract: The paper presents the capabilities of the developed expert system for vehicle accident reconstruction. The system determines converted energy for each vehicle, post-collision and pre-collision vehicles speeds, vehicle braking deceleration, the times in the braking process and total stopping distance. This system provides an opportunity to investigate the impact of various parameters at vehicle accident reconstruction. The developed expert system significantly reduces the time for the preparation of the expert… Show more

“…The aim of the present paper is to design and come up with a dynamic model of a vehicle-fixed barrier front crash in three separate motion phases and to investigate the inertial forces' impact on occupant behavior in the passenger compartment. While predicting dynamically changing values and inertial forces, the impact of passive safety systems has been also determined [7][8][9][10][11][12].…”
