Abstract: SummaryWe report an experience sampling study examining the within-individual effects of workplace interpersonal interaction characteristics on affect at work and daily well-being. “…According to AET, stable features of the work environment (e.g., a permissive organizational culture) predispose emotional responses, and these emotional responses trigger CBWs. Existing research supports many components of AET, demonstrating associations of work events with positive and negative emotions [23,24] and showing that these affective states in turn shape work attitudes (e.g., job satisfaction) [25] and behaviors [26].…”

“…29 In yet another study using experience sampling methodology, interpersonal interaction characteristics influenced job satisfaction through the mediating role of affective states. 30 Moreover, positive affective states buffered the detrimental association between negative affect and job satisfaction. Dynamic interaction between the person and the environment are considered important in the AET framework, however there is relative paucity of research that examines the role of emotion regulation processes using the AET framework.…”
