“…A number of new and advanced methods have been introduced by modifying existing methods for extraction of oil bodies from microalgae. For example, Ramluckana et al [59] have used single, binary and more than two organic solvents at a time for extraction of oil bodies while Boutekedjiret et al [60] presented the use of green bio-solvents (terpenes) extracted from aromatic plants.…”

“…Extraction time had an effect on oil yield, with higher oil yields for longer extraction times. However, increasing extraction time from 5 h to 7 h decreased oil yield, indicating that the system had already reached optimum at 5 h. The trend of this declining oil yield after 5 h may be linked to the possible formation of volatile degradation products which may lead to a reduction in the amount of oil extracted, as reported by Ramluckan et al [35]. Increasing extraction time from 5 h to 7 h also slightly decreased the triglycerides fraction of the oil, indicating that conditions were optimal for an extraction time of 5 h. Longer extraction times probably resulted in triglycerides degradation, through hydrolysis and/or oxidation, into other glycerides (i.e.…”

“…A extração do óleo pode ser atribuída à polaridade dos solventes, o etanol apresenta maior polaridade que o isopropanol (Takeuchi et al, 2009;Ramluckan et al, 2014). O etanol e o isopropanol por serem alcoóis podem demonstrar características bipolares, sendo adequados para extração de compostos bioativos (Almeida et al, 2012) e da fração lipídica (Rodriguez-Solana et al, 2014).…”
