The teaching profession is moving toward the use of educational technologies (ET) in the form of tablets, laptops, and reliable internet in the classroom to improve the quality of teaching and learning in schools. The use of these tools in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) is believed to positively impact how teachers deliver the curriculum. Teachers’ views on the application of educational technologies in the classroom are examined in this paper. The opinions of the teachers are crucial since they could influence whether or not the technologies are accepted. This study used a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews with 12 teachers from one district in Gauteng province. A purposive sampling method was used to select these teachers on the basis that Gauteng is the leading province in ICT integration in schools. Data were analysed thematically from teachers’ responses. The Activity Theory framework was used to underpin the study. According to the findings, teachers voiced their dissatisfaction with the use of these technologies and other issues they face, such as poor technical support, a lack of equipment for maintaining educational technologies, inferior educational technology infrastructure, and unreliable Internet connectivity. Additionally, teachers called on the Department of Basic Education to provide professional development in technology integration and to equip schools with infrastructure as well as Wi-Fi.

This paper presents the extent of adopting E-media in the Electronics Technology curriculum as an alternative instructional tool in developing the students’ competencies in measuring instruments, symbols, and circuit diagrams. The study found out that the five competencies under Safety were all given a descriptive rating of Very Satisfactory. This implies that the instructors observed the highest degree of safety protocols in their respective shops in the activity's conduct. The adoption of E-media in electronics, technology classes serve to improve students' learning capability to master the subject matter. Using the E-media facilities as an instructional tool, it facilitated the learning process. E-media's adoption as an additional instructional tool supplemented the identified competencies in the safety shop subject. It allows students to learn the basic principles of electronics technology, whereby interaction is encouraged and theories are put into practice in actual hands-on activities. The study suggested that the adoption of E-media in Electrical technology classes is continually done and practiced. Regular monitoring and updating of materials are also necessary for ensuring that the use of E-media is properly implemented.

This research is a research and development research on interactive multimedia-based explanatory text that aims to determine the validation, practicality and effectiveness of the product developed. Development of Interactive Multimedia -Based Explanation Text Materials Using the Procedure for Developing ADDIE Model. The ADDIE development model has 5 steps, namely: Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (Evaluation). The results showed that effectiveness was obtained based on increased student learning outcomes after pretest and posttest with N-Gain of 0.65 'medium' criteria. In the completed student pretest as many as 7 out of 25 students after using a posttest product and students who completed 22 out of 25 students. Mastery learning with a percentage value of 88% with the 'very good' category. It can be concluded that student learning outcomes increase after using the teaching material for interactive and effective multimedia -based explanatory texts.
