Astrology is a popular and resilient heuristic scheme for making sense of complex patterns in nature. Astrological heuristics are conveyed through communication in print and online media. Recent research found that the ecliptic longitude of sun signs predicts the frequency of celebrities-per-sign. A subsequent critique, however, attributed this large positive eff ect to methodological artifacts. The present study puts the alleged artifact hypotheses to an empirical test. One of the artifact hypotheses was sharply rejected, and no empirical support could be found for the second. Causal modeling indicated that although relative age in school (comparative maturity) increased the number of celebrities-persign, this eff ect on fame was largely mediated by ecliptic longitude sequence (ELS) and two other seasonal birth heuristics-wetness of sign (determined by astrological elements) and brightness of sign (determined by sign duality). Birth during depth of season, calculated from quality of sign, also increased celebrities-per-sign. The analysis found strong support for a mediation model with astrological aspects acting as personality proxies, although further research is needed to replicate these eff ects on celebrity.

The aim of this study is to examine early maladaptive schemas and the reasons why people believe in astrology. Reasons for the beliefs of societies and people who believe in astrology from the past to the present were examined, and the reasons for individual and social beliefs were listed as a result of the literature review. The similarities between the reasons why people believe in astrology, which is becoming more and more popular every day, and the reasons underlying the early maladaptive schemas of schema therapy formed the basis of the research. It was investigated and discussed whether the behavior of believing in astrology is similar to early maladaptive schemas. Studies conducted both in Turkey and in different cultures were briefly reviewed, secondary data were analyzed, the research was concluded and recommendations were presented.

Factors Influencing Price Perception for Fashion: Study of Millennials in India

Indians are culturally conditioned to be price sensitive, but do the Indian millennials hold similar price perception for fashion. This paper provides new insights into the price perception of Indian millennials for fashion and is the first to examine the influence of fashion involvement and personality traits viz., self-confidence and public self-consciousness with fashion innovativeness as a mediator and zodiac signs as a moderator on price perception with specific focus on price-quality schema of Indian millennials. A conclusive, descriptive and single cross-sectional research design was used to collect data from Indian millennials using a self-completion questionnaire. The model fit and hypothesized relationships between the variables were assessed using AMOS, a covariance-based structural equation modeling technique. The results indicate a statistically significant relationship between personality traits and price perception of Indian millennials for fashion. The mediating effect of fashion innovativeness was not found. The moderating effect of zodiac signs was observed. This study contributes to the understanding of the price perception of Indian millennials and brings to light a new dimension of the moderating role of zodiac signs. The results provide valuable inputs to the marketers in designing their marketing strategies.
