An assay for Staphylococcus aureus based on a self-catalytic ampicillin–metal (Fe3+)-organic gels–H2O2 chemiluminescence system with near-zero background noise

Abstract: A self-catalytic ampicillin–metal (Fe3+)-organic gels (AMP–MOGs (Fe))–H2O2 CL system, which is not influenced by transition metal ions, was studied.

“…Because the low-coordinated or single metal atoms can usually act as the active sites, these complexes always exhibit higher catalytic activity . Additionally, the complexes always constitute three-dimensional frameworks, which include metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and metal–organic gels (MOGs). , In recent years, MOFs or MOGs have been applied in the CL field because of their excellent catalytic property . In these various complexes, 1,10-phenanthroline-2, 9-dicarboxylic acid (PDA) has been used as the ligand, which has a rigid phen backbone with only limited movement possible for the donor groups at the 2- and 9-positions of the phen.…”

“…32,33 In recent years, MOFs or MOGs have been applied in the CL field because of their excellent catalytic property. 34 In these various complexes, 1,10-phenanthroline-2, 9-dicarboxylic acid 35−37 (PDA) has been used as the ligand, which has a rigid phen backbone with only limited movement possible for the donor groups at the 2-and 9-positions of the phen. Two reports 38,39 have been reported by using PDA as the ligand in the CL system.…”
