An artificial immune algorithm for ergonomic product classification using anthropometric measurements

Abstract: Product classification using anthropometric measurements leads to ergonomic product design and user satisfaction. We propose an effective artificial immune algorithm (AIA) to classify ergonomic products with multi-criteria anthropometric measurements and tune the AIA parameters with a full factorial experimental design approach. We demonstrate the applicability and efficacy of the proposed algorithm by considering the anthropometric measurements of the hand, developing an ergonomic computer mouse, and classify… Show more

“…And the selfregulation function of immune response is manifested by promoting or inhibiting the production of antibodies. [36][37][38] Probability distribution of the driving intention given the emotion status is obtained by immunegenetic algorithm, and, based on that, effect analysis model of emotions on driving intention is established. The algorithm flow is shown in Figure 4.…”

“…Note that, in [19,20], new versions of GA and PSO have been developed to solve di erent multi-objective optimization problems. Additionally, IA, which is similar to GA, has attracted much attention because its memory mechanisms can provide more varieties in population and its several successful applications, e.g., using IA to solve a multi-objective ergonomic product classi cation problem [21]. Since the encoding of chromosome of IA and GA is based on 0 and 1, both algorithms are more suitable for discrete optimization problems.…”

“…A recent study reported a longitudinal relationship between anthropometric parameters and stress and its tendency to cause overeating [ 13 ]. Over the past years, studies have focused on the associations between anthropometric parameters and potential employee selection [ 14 ], psychological issues [ 13 ], ergonomic product design [ 15 , 16 ] and touchscreen information system design [ 17 ]. Even though there are many more indicators that predict human health, anthropometric parameters, such as the body mass index (BMI) and waist–hip ratio (WHR), provide an easy and inexpensive measurement approach for communities [ 18 ].…”
