An alkali ion source based on graphite intercalation compounds for ion mobility spectrometry

Abstract: A variety of alkali cation emitters were developed as the ion source for ion mobility spectrometry. The cation emitters were constructed based on alkali ion graphite intercalation compounds (GICs). The compounds were prepared by fusing alkali salts with ground graphite.
