The use of IoT for real-time data processing and sharing in various fields such as medical care, finance, and education has become essential. However, the current infrastructure for IoT is expensive and complex, leading to high maintenance costs. The outsourcing cloud paradigm and attribute-based encryption (ABE) are solutions to address data access problems in IoT data sharing. Ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE) is a prominent approach for securely utilizing shared data in cloud computing. However, CP-ABE raises concerns regarding key escrow problems and complex access structures. Multi-authority systems can increase communication costs. To address these issues, a scheme called Key escrow-protected Cooperative ciphertext policy with weighted attribute-based encryption (KPC-CP-WABE) is proposed. This scheme involves two authorities: the attribute authority and the Central Trusted Authority Center (CTAC). The user's secret key is generated separately by both parties, with the CTAC also playing a role in key generation. A two-party computation protocol is used to design the user's secret key, ensuring the privacy of the private key. The study mainly focused on looking at KPC-CP-WABE with other methods over encryption performance whole weighted access policies with “AND” gates. The proposed approach introduces weights to the provider's access policy attributes. An information retrieval system is also presented to extract the common access sub-policy, improving encryption performance while avoiding complex access structures. Compared to standard methods, this approach reduces encryption and decryption costs. Overall, the study demonstrates that KC-CP-WABE selectively secures shared data based on CP-WABE, resulting in superior performance in terms of extraction time compared to CP-ABE, CP-WABE, and C-CP-ABE.

Compared to traditional computing methods, quantum computing's performance is a direct result of its foundation in quantum theory. It's a real benefit to academia and will cut computing times in half, from years to hours or minutes. Thus, quantum computers represent a significant risk to encryption because they create new dangers at an unparalleled pace and scale. When confronted by a quantum computer, conventional cryptographic techniques fail. However, particularly in a multi-core setting, there is a need for the design as well as development of cryptographic algorithms, which are safe from or resistant to the effects of quantum computing. In this paper, the advantages and disadvantages of the most popular quantum-safe cryptographic algorithms are described with an analysis of their performance on a multi-core machine. In this research, the efficiency of many possible quantum-safe algorithms, including multivariate, code-based, hash-based, and lattice-based algorithms, is analyzed. Most of quantum-safe algorithms need longer execution times and larger key sizes. In order to safeguard computers and networking in the post-quantum age, this work compares and analyses the performance of several post-quantum cryptographic methods.

Most research works nowadays deal with real-time Internet of Things (IoT) data. However, with exponential data volume increases, organizations need help storing such humongous amounts of IoT data in cloud storage systems. Moreover, such systems create security issues while efficiently using IoT and Cloud Computing technologies. Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) has the potential to make IoT data more secure and reliable in various cloud storage services. Cloud-assisted IoTs suffer from two privacy issues: access policies (public) and super polynomial decryption times (attributed mainly to complex access structures). We have developed a CP-ABE scheme in alignment with a Hidden Hierarchy Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (HH-CP-ABE) access structure embedded within two policies, i.e., public policy and sensitive policy. In this proposed scheme, information is only revealed when the user's information is satisfactory to the public policy. Furthermore, the proposed scheme applies to resource-constrained devices already contracted tasks to trusted servers (especially encryption/decryption/searching). Implementing the method and keywords search resulted in higher access policy privacy and increased security. The new scheme introduces superior storage in comparison to existing systems (CP-ABE, H-CP-ABE), while also decreasing storage costs in HH-CP-ABE. Furthermore, a reduction in time for key generation can also be noted. Moreover, the scheme proved secure, even in handling IoT data threats in the Decisional Bilinear Diffie-Hellman (DBDH) case.
